As you have already discovered, Malware Removal topics are handled by volunteers who have completed extensive training and have been found to be competent in diagnosing malware infections and providing assistance with well recognized procedures for removing malware to the best of current knowledge and standards. If you are being helped by a WTT Malware Team Member, you can be assured that you are receiving help from one of the best available throughout the Internet and that their work is backed by resource and collaboration of many other Malware Team Members and Experts.
In the Software and Hardware Forums, a much broader Topic range is presented. Additionally, both questions and replies are allowed to be posted by the General Membership. Tech Team Members are available in these Forums for consultation and assistance as needed. Often, a General Member will have had direct experience or their own specialization in a Topic area, making their contribution particularly useful. Team Members make it a point to read through the Forums to assure that the highest possible standards for accuracy are met. Suggestions that tell you to do something, -- without offering a rationale or additional information with which you can expand your own understanding of the problem--- may be less helpful than replies that include such information. Our goal in Software and Hardware Forums is to promote educations in addition to break/fix assistance. The hope and purpose is for our Membership to become more aware of how they can manage their own machines, software applications and computing experience for themselves by learning while they are being assisted. ________ I remember when I first started reading in various help Forums around the Internet. I felt overwhelmed and amazed of all the available information. I also carried a healthy skepticism and was reluctant to apply recommendations until I could understand them to the best of my ability. Each one of us must develop our own criterion for evaluating and applying recommendations that we find or that are directly offered. One way to develop a better understanding, is to follow the posting of a few helpers who catch your attention. Read what they have to say, not just in your own area of interest, but in other areas and watch for how they relate to and assist others. Gather as much of the information that you deem necessary to meet your own criterion. WTT Forums attempts to meet high standards of safety and accuracy while providing help in a respectful and friendly manner. Still, like most things in life, it is ultimately the users own decision and responsibility that must be exercised when acting on information and applying it to one's own situation. You may further benefit from reading our TOU "Terms Of Use", linked at the top of any forum page. Welcome and Best Regards to You. |
