Good day,

This is my first post to the site and I hope that I am posting in the correct topic site as I was directed here by the person trying to help me on the "Malware Removal" web site as he could not help me there. So, here lies my problem..When I try to access certain sites a box pops up telling me about some online Casino with an ok and cancel button. The cancel button does not work and the I use Task Manager to shut down Firefox...I do not seem to have any other problems of any consequence and can access most all of the web sites I use on a daily basis and some that I only use infrequently. I can also access the hijacked sites on my laptop and other desktop so I know it is the site itself. I have run many scans with A/V, Malware and Spyware programs and nothing shows up..Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for the post and the link Paws..I did follow the link and did read the entire post and the summation is that the fault was with the web site it self not a virus/malware problem with the computer based on the fact that others went to the site and experienced the same problem...but at the time I posted my problem I was able to access the US CELLULAR site on my laptop and also my other desktop through the same network and even though I have since experienced the same problem with all my computers now I can not believe that a site like US CELLUAR would allow it's site to be inaccessible for such a long period of time considering the number of people like me who use this online service. I am just trying to understand how this all works and I do thank you on the forums here for your time and knowledge in helping folks like me...Have a great day!

Okay, I am totally the the most ignorant of the ignorant....I have been Hijacked not by Ownbox.com but by my on stupidity...it's called spelling....Yeah, if you leave out an all important letter or add one..the results will not be what you are looking for..so Paws please forgive me for this act of stupidity and know that I do thank you and the Forum for all your help...and I am leaving the post as is so that everyone can see how we can overlook a very simple solution to a problem, become confused, angry and finally even overlook some very good advice from much more knowledgeable folks....just as I did. Thanks again Paws and thanks for this Forum.

Hi Redbellie,
I'm glad it turned out to be something simple and not the bad guys!... thumbup.gif
You are so right..just one little error in spelling (that is so darn hard to notice) and you are whisked off to where you dont want to go!!
Happy surfing
