Laptop crashes and brings up the "blue screen of death" stating Windows had to shut down. File in question is SYMEFA.SYS. Below is the HijackThis log file. Malware Bytes found a Trojan and said it was successfully removed.

It appears that it is your copy of Norton that is the issue - SYMEFA.SYS is a Symantec creation. See http://community.norton.com/norton/board/m...ding&page=1 for an example.

I suggest that you contact Symantec Customer Support and see what they suggest. Go here, select your country and then find the Customer Support link and follow the instructions from there.

Thank you. I will review that link and see if that resolves the problem. I did find a Trojan virus when I finally got Malware Bytes to scan in safe mode. I will try to fix Norton and if the issue persists I will open a new thread, if that is the proper way to proceed.
