RESOLVED. PLEASE IGNORE. THANKS!

I have a computer that was unused for over a year that I am now trying to bring back to life. I've installed and run several anti-virus and spyware programs. I've run Microsoft Update about a hundred times. I've installed Office 2007 and Parental Controls, etc.

The main problem with this computer that I'm now trying to resolve is that is takes it FOREVER to reboot/restart. I check the CPU usage and running applications/processes, network utilization, etc. and nothing jumps out at me. You can hear the CPU (hard drive I *think*) working feverishly for about 10 minutes it seems until things finally calm down and the computer starts performing decently.

I have a feeling HijackThis can probably tell me what the problems are, but I'm just not quite good enough to feel comfortable messing with my registry myself.
