At WhattheTech only those people who are being trained here or are staff here, are allowed to help Victims with their PCs. If you are a victim with PC problems, or are someone who just wants your HijackThis log looked at to see if it is clean, please observe the Group that the person helping you belongs to, before following their advice The group is listed under the name of the person who is helping you, for example:
  • Nickname - this is a link to the person's profile

  • optional description - optional class of member or extra Group

  • blue blocks - indicating number of posts by access group (15,40,100 etc)

  • Group - see below - this is what you are looking for

  • Posts - number of individual posts by that person

  • Joined - the date this person joined Tom Coyote

  • Member No - their member number

  • Warn meter - which is visible only to you

The Different Groups at WhattheTech:

Admin Team: are the administrators of the forum.

SuperModerator, Expert, and Moderator Groups: know a great deal about all aspects of spyware, adware, malware and PC’s in general. They will give you clear, accurate information and will know about the latest developments that concern the user. Any user is in excellent hands with any of these people helping them.

Classroom Teacher Team: These individuals have excellent knowledge of spyware, adware and malware and will give you advice you can rely on. They primarily work in the classroom, though they do help in the main forum frequently. Classroom Teachers also are moderators and can alter posts in the main forum, if necessary.

MRU Teachers: These individuals have excellent knowledge of spyware, adware and malware. Their primary function at WhattheTech is to supervise the MRU Students, while the students are helping you.

Advisors Group: They have anti-spyware skills equivalent to an Expert and have shown a willingness to help in the classroom and also respond to logs. Their advice can be relied on as accurate, They are well trained and some have been Classroom Teachers before having to step down due to time constraints.

Malware Team: They have reached a level where they can give you accurate advice, but occasionally they may need to get an expert to help with a difficult HJT log. They are well trained and advise using their experience to solve your PC problem.

Junior Class: These members of the classroom are able to help our users through something we call "Check My Fix Please Before I Post". Each person who is responding to users will be doing so after posting to the above area of the Classroom, where all of their work is reviewed by an expert member of the forum. The members of this group are still fully supervised, to ensure they can be relied upon to give correct advice.

Freshman Class: These individuals are new to our classroom but, in most cases, bring experience from other forums. Generally, in this group are people who have recently asked for and received admission to the classroom. The classroom offers an in-depth knowledge of Spyware, Malware and Adware, complete with methods and tools for fighting this successfully. These members bring with them a desire to help others and a thirst for the knowledge that will allow them to do so. At WhattheTech, this level of membership provides a completely protected atmosphere in which to learn the basics. These individuals post only within the classroom, receiving full supervision of their work, until their skill level has been assessed. Once their assessment is finished, they will be promoted to Slyware Junior.

MRU Students: These individuals are in training at Malware Removal University and their work is supervised, by the MRU Teachers. Their level of antispyware education is similar to that of our Slyware Juniors, Slyware Junior Advanced and Slyware Seniors. In a co-operative effort, MRU and WhattheTech Classroom are training the next generation of malware fighters.
