Do you know if you gave the latest BIOS? 1007. Also how much free space is on your C: drive? Im sorry, on your first question, I do not know what your asking. If your asking about the BIOS information on the scan then it says: BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 0610 12/30/2005 Otherwise you might have to explain yourself a little more please. I have 24.6 GB of free space on my C drive. |

By the date I am seeing several updates to your BIOS although I am not finding a 0610.
http://support.asus.com/download/download_...el=A8N-VM%20CSM The most recent (and most likely last) was Version 1007 2007/01/22 update This might address some issues but you must make sure that this is the exact model of your motherboard as it is strange they do not list a 0610 in the history. Another thing you might try is to run check disk: start > cmd then: chkdsk /r you will be told the Volume is in use do you want to run on reboot> Y or N >>> Y and reboot. This may take 10 or 15 minutes on the reboot. The purpose is to check the disk and repair any faults or quarantine bad blocks etc. |

You can check but it never should have run on your system drive.
If your system drive is C: then try: chkdsk /c: /r http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...k.mspx?mfr=true . This post has been edited by jephree: Oct 27 2009, 10:29 PM

My fault, it said that the chkdsk would apply when the computer next restarts, it did not do it by itself. Here is the complete message:
"Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? <Y/N>" |

So you said: Y & restarted? If so were any issues resolved? Yes I said "Y" and restarted my computer, I don't know if this has resolved any issues as I have not had time to check, I will check tomorrow and see if the errors come up and will inform you tomorrow. Thanks. This post has been edited by Jim786: Oct 27 2009, 11:54 PM |

I tested the computer today and it ran across the same error as it did in the very beginning:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Also, I turn off the power and turn it back on, the computer seems to stay in the same start menu section. It isn't until I turn off the computer, wait 10 minutes, and turn it on again will it resume to actually start up. |

Sorry for the delay.
What does "WhoCrashed" show for the recent dumps? Also do you have your XP CD? A Repair Install might be in the future in order to determine if this is a hardware or software issue. |
