Well there is no reason for it not to work, it is even compatible with vista and 64bit systems, so even though it's old (from what you've said) it does have full support available, so technically speaking there is no reason for it to play up.
Now you say you downloaded the drivers from the makers, just want to confirm that you got the right file, the following link is the page, select the OS and file type (eg xp and 32bit) and that should be the file you need, save it to your desktop (for ease of finding), now make sure the device is NOT connected (I assume it's a plug in job ?), then disable your anti virus and any other protection, BUT do NOT drop your firewall or you will get an infection, once you've done this run the file and accept all it throws at you, reboot if needed then connect the device to allow the install to complete, should the install instruct you to connect it before then do so, hopefully this will work. The reason for this is protection can sometimes cause problems with installs, and you are always supposed to install the driver before connecting the device, should it still not work after this then we need to try another trick. So if needed right click on an empty space on the desktop and select create new folder (no need to name it), now place the driver download into that folder, next depends on if you have any zipping tools, if you don't I suggest getting and installing 7-Zip, with such software installed right click on the file and select extract here, now with the device connected go into the Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager, then look for any signs of a conflict for this device, if there is double click it and select update driver (you may need to select another tab to see this option), then select browse and take it to the folder on the desktop and OK it, it should then pick out the required file and install it, hopefully this should get it working, so heres hoping, the link for the driver is as follows, good luck. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/352&...cl=us,en?osid=1 |
