My nephew came for a visit over the weekend and visited alot of kid game websites like crazymonkeygame and some pokemoncreator thing. Anyway.. after that, I noticed my computer freaking out. The background was replaced with some porn background, all these new browser windows repeatedly keep popping up. It reset all my cookie settings and no matter how many times I reset the settings for privacy, it always reverts back the same way. I have tried installing a new virus scan and spyware program callaed Trend Micro PC-cillin 14, but to no avail. It does capture some virus' and trojans and says it has deleted them, but it still does the same thing and is painfully slow. From reading some of your previous posts.. I have downloaded Hijack this. Here is the log file. Please help me restore my computer. This is so frustrating.

Thought I'd mention that some of the popups say "Deewoo" if that helps you in anyway. Thank you.

You might want to print these instructions out.

Open the HijackThis Folder. ( C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe) Right Click on the file HijackThis.exe, and Select Rename. Rename Hijackthis.exe to Spyware.exe.

Next:

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Next:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.

Also "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Thank you for your help. I really am very grateful.

I followed your instructions exactly and upon rebooting, I found that my computer comes up alot more quickly. It was taking forever just to get to the desktop and be able to open Internet Explorer. However, when my antivirus kicks on, it immediately finds three trojans and listed them as

TROJ DLOADER.VBW
TROJ VIRTUM.BG
TROJ RENOS.FV

I notice that my browser setting continue to revert back to accepting all cookies even though I have changed them to not do that every time. I also continue to get pop up windows with adverts. They just keep coming.

Here is a copy of the log file from Malwarebytes:
