I have tried to go through and do up my budget properly in the My Money program. I see that this has happened to others but I can't seem to figure it out. I tried to download a patch but that hasn't solved it and I don't want to fool around with that option too much for fear of losing some serious data. This "debt" shows up in the budget even though it isn't listed (that I can see) in the Bills and Deposits list. The account has been closed but it won't actually allow me to delete it, which if I could would probably keep it out of the budget. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Dan

The first step to take before attacking the "problem" that you describe, is to backup your Microsoft Money File

Have a look here:
http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/94.aspx
__________-

After performing the above to make a secure backup copy of your budget data, you can more freely/confidently work on the problem without fear of loosing your important data if your problem-solving work creates its own problems.

Hi....thanks for your help. I do believe I have backed up My Money now so that is a good thing. The links that have been provided already are ones that I have previously visited, and at this point I can't seem to figure them out to fix my problem. Some of them appear to mention a "phantom budget bug" which I am guessing may be what I am describing. I downloaded one, but didn't appear to do anything. I don't know if this is a problem which can't be fixed ....but I thought I would ask here. Thanks again. Dan

Dan,

Thanks for replying,

If amongst the links that we have explored, there is an MS Money user Forum, that may be your best source.

There's a chance that one of our Techs will be familiar with your specific problem.
I'll ask around

Best Regards.
