Hello,
I am posting this HijackThis log for my brother as he can not access this website after a browser hijack. He says that he can not access websites like google, facebook, myspace and hotmail as well. He has stated that his Norton Internet Security has found many trojans and a look at his log showed 20 sec prior to an all out virus alert, some process (Mshta.exe) was able to add itself to Nortons exclusion or trusted application list. Apparently after an Ad-aware cleanup that process was no longer where norton said it was. Here is his HijackThis log: QUOTE Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 3:05:00 PM, on 7/23/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AppCore\AppSvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\aawservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\ASUS\Ai Suite\AiNap\AiNap.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliType Pro\itype.exe C:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\HPWuSchd2.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\jusched.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Rundll32.exe C:\Program Files\ASUS\AASP\1.00.59\aaCenter.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Winamp Remote\bin\OrbTray.exe C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\reader_sl.exe C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\PSIService.exe C:\Program Files\Winamp Remote\bin\Orb.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\bin32\nSvcAppFlt.exe C:\Program Files\bin32\nSvcIp.exe C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqSTE08.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\usnsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe O3 - Hi Gatts, and Welcome to WhatTheTech
My name is Tomk. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:
Please do not wrap your reply in quote tags. It is easier for me to read if you just copy/past. A. Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE directly to your Desktop. Note: If you already have ComboFix on your machine, please DELETE it from your desktop before downloading the newest version. B. Now we must disable some of your security programs so that they do not interfere with the running of our tools: NORTON ANTIVIRUS Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right hand corner and look for a sign.
AD-AWARE AD-WATCH
C.Go to -> Run -> copy/paste the following single line command in the runbox & click OK"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall
Notes: 1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall. 2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions. 3. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser. 4. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper. 5. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine. |
