SpeedFan attaches the "fire icon" to anything 50C or greater. This is a bit misleading as most quad cores as well as high end graphics cards run @ 60C + . A heat issue would usually only occur @ about 70C.
Was that screenshot done while you were playing a game? If not can you play and monitor SpeedFan at the same time? Multiple monitors are good for this. ... This post has been edited by jephree: Nov 15 2009, 06:03 PM

That temp should not affect the computer although it is high. I assume it is the CPU temp but on my SpeedFan it lists the cores separately. Also my SpeedFan does not list my graphics cards but Everest does.
60 > 65C is standard for stock fans on high end cards. If the Temp is not the issue can you basically force BSODs by playing? If so can you post more "Who Crashed" results? Also did you verify that you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard? Sorry I have no definitive ideas at this point. |

What is your exact Asus model motherboard? Asus support should have a list of BIOS'. See if there is one more recent than Version 1001.
http://support.asus.com/ Everest under "Sensor" should have your temps. It is not generally useful to be posting to multiple forums but thanks for the link. It changes nothing in my thinking. It is confusing that your sensors don't cover what is usual. However I disagree that 65C is abnormal for either your CPU or GPU under stock fans. My two most important issues would be your BIOS version and also post more dump results. Just keep forcing the error and run "WhoCrashed". A thermal issue usually results in either a Freeze or a Shutdown. BSODs' although possibly triggered by hardware are mostly software issues. |

A BIOS update is fairly quick and simple. The only issue would be a power failure so like don't update your BIOS during a severe thunderstorm etc.
The first process is to see if there is a more recent version than that which you currently have. Reformatting or reinstalling your OS is a bit unnecessary at this point. As your computer has no problems outside of gaming the issue is most likely heat or some drivers. Reformatting/reinstalling will not help in this case. I reiterate: if you can force these BSODs please post more "WhoCrashed" logs. Thanks. |

First off as to DQS Training go to your BIOS and set Defaults.
Second turn off Auto-restart so that errors will be noted: Right click My Computer then click Properties then Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System failure > Automatically restart ... This post has been edited by jephree: Nov 18 2009, 06:41 PM |

Another generic "wild card" fault basically blaming nothing in particular.
Back to the first post you indicated that this system used to be able to play these games? Is that correct? You also indicated that cleaning the computer had some affect? Correct? I'd suggest an experiment: Leave the case side off and blow the biggest room fan you have right into the case on high speed and see it that changes anything. |

BUT I WILL BLOW A BIG FAN IN MY PC This post has been edited by kaos123: Nov 19 2009, 06:43 AM |
